Director - Corporate Actuarial, Property & Casualty Insurance (Quebec City)

Industrial Alliance, Auto & Home Insurance Inc. is seeking a Director of Corporate Actuarial to lead and shape the actuarial strategy for our property and casualty division in Québec.
Location: 1080, Grande Allee West, Québec, Quebec.
Job type: Permanent.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and support appointed actuary’s activities, including actuarial liabilities valuation, Financial Condition Examination (FCE), and related reporting.
- Assess reinsurance needs and manage relationships with brokers and reinsurers.
- Evaluate capital requirements and contribute to regulatory capital calculations.
- Support stress testing and quantitative analysis as part of the enterprise risk management process.
- Produce actuarial financial projections for budgeting.
- Oversee business intelligence activities within the vice‑presidency.
- Support governance related to rate adequacy of insurance products.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives and cross‑functional projects.
- Identify financial issues and new requirements, discuss with vice‑presidency to establish strategies.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of regulatory developments and actuarial standards.
- Support professional development of team members through knowledge sharing.
- Act as resource person for employees, ensuring thorough follow‑up on ongoing work.
- Estimate and plan deliverables and communicate progress updates.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of property and casualty actuarial experience, with corporate actuarial experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science.
- Professional designation FCIA and/or FCAS.
- Recognized leadership, managerial courage, ability to mobilize teams.
- Strong analytical rigor, curiosity, results‑driven mindset.
- Strategic thinking with a strong sense of accountability.
