Job Responsibilities

• Develop, with the various stakeholders, the regional legal department's annual strategic plan and budget.
• Based on the strategic plan, implement an action plan and mobilize the team around its objectives.
• Report monthly to the Management Committee on the progress of the action plan.
• Ensure service presence throughout the Saguenay Lac‑Saint‑Jean region.
• Contribute to various provincial committees in connection with provincial strategic planning.
• Ensure the planning and weekly distribution of files to be carried out and emergencies to be dealt with in connection with risk management and flows generated by the taxation and certification department.
• Be involved in the realization of mandates in order to support the team (requirement 50% of the task annually).
• Supported by the Human Resources department, work on recruitment, annual appraisals, training and follow‑up of human resources.
• Follow up on work in progress and invoicing.
• Promote the department to associates, customers and other departments.
• Analyze and propose advanced technological tools and new innovative working and management methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in law (LL.B.), member of the Quebec Bar or the Chambre des notaires du Québec.
• Seven to ten years' relevant corporate or commercial legal experience acquired in a law firm or corporate legal department.
• MBA, CFA, M.Fisc., CPA or other relevant professional designations are an asset.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with many different stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills, interest in processes and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Versatility and ability to work in a wide range of fields.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• The candidate is self‑motivated, shows initiative and is able to work independently with minimal supervision.
