Why this role is on the menu The Billing Operations Associate owns the end-to-end billing lifecycle across Instacart's retail partner portfolio, ensuring accurate invoicing, timely month-end close, and compliance with financial controls. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced operational environment, takes ownership of their work, and is committed to delivering high-quality, accurate results consistently. What you'll cook up in your first year - Monthly billing cycles are executed accurately and on time, with invoices calculated, generated, and delivered via email and third-party portals such as Ariba. - Credit memos, debit memos, and refunds are processed in accordance with approved requests. - Oracle workbooks are built and maintained for new and amended contracts. - Commercial contracts are reviewed to identify billing requirements, with billing language validated with senior team members as needed. - Peer reviews of invoice calculations are completed to ensure accuracy and adherence to contract terms. - Billing inquiries are responded to promptly, with complex disputes escalated appropriately. - Audit requests are supported and ad hoc projects are completed accurately and on time. - Established SOPs and internal controls are followed to ensure consistent and compliant billing operations. The secret ingredients we're looking for Must-have pantry staples (Minimum Qualifications) - 2+ years of experience in billing operations, accounts receivable, order-to-cash, or a similar role, preferably in a a B2B tech, marketplace, or SaaS environment - Foundational understanding of invoicing processes, ERP workflows, and AR fundamentals - Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage high-volume workloads accurately - Expert proficiency with spreadsheets (Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel) - Familiarity with Oracle or similar ERP systems - Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM - Clear and professional communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally - Ability to follow defined processes and controls while knowing when to escalate - Self-starter who takes ownership and delivers on commitments Optional garnishes (Preferred Qualifications) - Experience with BI or data tools such as Alteryx or SQL - Experience or aptitude to leverage AI tooling to augment or automate processes - Familiarity with marketplace, subscription, or advertising billing models - Exposure to working with Finance, Legal, or Sales teams in a cross-functional capacity #LI-Remote Instacart provides highly market-competitive compensation and benefits in each location where our employees work.
