Title: Practice Manager/Clinical Lead, Primary Care Salary: $97,462 - $108,928 - $114,661 per year prorated for FTE (pay range explained below) Contract: Permanent or 2- year term, location dependent Hours: FT and 0.75 positions available Monday - Friday (core hours 9am -3pm) Location: Lillooet, Fraser West, Fraser South, Mount Currie and Vancouver Island

FNPCI Initiative The First Nations-led Primary Care Initiative (FNPCI) aims to improve access to primary health-care services for First Nations Peoples across BC in a way that is culturally safe and closer to home. The FNPCI is part of the province's primary care strategy, which is integrating team-based care in communities throughout B.C. and changing the way primary care is delivered with the creation of primary care networks in partnership with the Regional Health Authorities.

In order to meet the health and wellness needs of First Nations Peoples, it is very important that primary care is culturally safe and culturally informed where Indigenous ways of knowing and being are woven into services.

One of the main objectives of the FNPCI is to develop 15 First Nations Primary Health Care Centres in rural and urban locations across the province.

The centres will provide access to culturally safe, quality primary health care services for First Nations people and their families. The aim is for clients to feel safe, welcomed, valued, respected and heard when they access care services at one of these centres.

About the role As Practice Manager, you'll be steering the clinic's services, providing leadership to a team of non-physician and non-nurse practitioner service providers for example Registered Nurses, Mental Health Clinicians, Social Workers, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Dietitian, Elders, Traditional Healers, Traditional Food Advisor and Driver. As such, you'll be fostering relational, and progressive relationships, leading the shaping and enhancement of the services the team will provide. Under your leadership, our team will deliver a blend of Western and traditional wellness services, which can potentially include mobile clinic services based on the FNPCI site location.

• Overseeing the delivery of primary care, mental health, and substance use programming, working with community leaders and partners to develop and enhance services.
• Coordinating clinical staff and scheduling, ensuring that staffing levels meet operational needs effectively.
• Integrating quality improvement and risk management into clinic practices, evaluating any care changes, and recommending updates to policies and procedures.
• Collaborating with FNHA regional and provincial teams to provide high-standard educational services, training, and resources to clinical staff.
• Participating in local, regional, and provincial committees to contribute to improvements in healthcare service delivery, ensuring that community needs are effectively addressed.

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing from a recognized university.

• Current practicing registration with the BCCNM.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in primary care, mental health, and/or substance use nursing, including 2 years of experience in a supervisory/leadership capacity.

• A general knowledge of clinical supervision, advanced nursing practices, and critical incident debriefing, coupled with strong capabilities in applying cultural safety, humility, and trauma-informed care.
• Well-versed in First Nations cultural principles, intersectionality, and privacy laws such as FOIPPA and PIPA, ensuring the protection of client confidentiality and rights.
• Understanding the unique challenges of rural and remote communities, facilitating tailored and effective healthcare approaches.
• Proven ability to teach, facilitate, and lead, promoting a supportive and innovative learning environment.
• Skills in setting priorities, problem-solving, and managing emergency situations, ensuring effective team performance and high-quality patient care.

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours. Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.

The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level.

As a health and wellness organization, the FNHA has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
