Trinity College School (TCS) is a leading boarding and day school for approximately 600 young people from Grades 5-12. The School is situated on a beautiful 100-acre campus in Port Hope, Ontario, and one hour's drive east of Toronto. Founded in 1865, the School places a balanced emphasis on academics, service learning, athletics and the arts - as both a long-held TCS tradition and a thoughtful approach to a 21st-century education.
In support of Trinity College School's mission and vision, the Associate Director of Admissions plays a key role in developing and executing recruitment strategies that align with the School's values and enrolment goals. This position combines the traditional role of an admissions officer with marketing and strategic business planning responsibilities. The Associate Director of Admissions assists in setting annual enrolment management goals and takes a leading role in attracting, recruiting and enrolling mission-appropriate boarding students. Reporting to the Executive Director - Enrolment, this position also manages the financial assistance budget and agent portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the management of the financial assistance program including scholarships and bursaries for both returning and new students
- Plan and execute all logistics for key international recruitment events, including school visits, fairs, virtual information sessions, and presentations
- Support prospective families at each stage of the customer journey with a high level of care, creating a seamless admissions experience that reflects the School's values
- Collaborate with the School's database provider to drive high-level data strategy, optimize system functionality, and improve reporting processes
- Build and maintain strong relationships with our international consultants and agent partners and provide ongoing training
- Develop strategic outreach plans to expand partnerships in key markets, ensuring alignment with TCS's values and mission
- Represent TCS professionally at school fairs, high school visits, community events and other recruitment activities locally and internationally
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective parents, students, alumni, current parents
- Commit to approximately 60 days international travel in a calendar year for the purpose of recruitment
Qualifications & Key Skills
- A combination of post-secondary education and a minimum of three to five years in admissions, education, business, marketing, communications or another related field
- Experience in a boarding or independent school setting is considered an asset
- Demonstrated experience setting and achieving strategic business goals (experience implementing a comprehensive enrolment plan, a definite asset)
- Success as a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, articulate spokesperson and presenter; strong written and verbal communication skills; persuasive communicator in large and small groups
- Prior oversight of large budgets and/or knowledge of financial assistance programs considered assets
- Strong writing, editing and production skills applicable across multiple marketing platforms
- Experience with international travel and cross-cultural engagement, demonstrating an ability to connect with families from diverse backgrounds with warmth and professionalism
- A customer service focus; knowledgeable and sensitive to the needs of prospective families
- An ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities; keen attention to detail
- Experience with admissions software, CRM systems, and Google Workspace
Important considerations
- This position involves domestic and international travel for student recruitment between September and March with trips ranging from 4-15 days
- Some evening and weekend work is required during peak admission periods
- A valid passport is required for international travel
- A clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector reference is required as a condition of employment
