Senior Commercial Property Underwriter
Zurich Insurance
Analyze complex property risks as a Senior Underwriter with Zurich Canada, using strong underwriting judgment and commercial insurance expertise in a hybrid model.
This senior position underwrites new and renewal commercial property business within delegated authority levels. You will apply The Zurich Way of Underwriting Framework, evaluate exposures, and develop profitable solutions. The work supports brokers, customers, and Zurich's portfolio objectives across Canadian markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Underwrite new and renewal commercial property business
- Evaluate complex exposures and structure coverage solutions
- Prepare quotations and negotiate broker terms
- Manage portfolio growth, retention, and profitability
- Interpret risk engineering reports for underwriting decisions
Requirements:
- Three or more years in underwriting or market-facing work
- Knowledge of underwriting principles and insurance products
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and negotiation skills
- Ability to evaluate risks and develop profitable solutions
- Minimum five years preferred in commercial property underwriting
