At Secord Animal Hospital we welcome a Veterinarian, DVM to join our team as Medical Director , in Toronto, Ontario. This dual role is a great opportunity to blend day-to-day hands‑on patient care with veterinary leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide gentle preventive and urgent care, ensuring pets and their families feel safe and supported.
• Act as a trusted, collaborative sounding board for our veterinary doctors on medical and surgical cases.
• Partner with the Hospital Manager and regional leadership to foster a positive, supportive culture and an exceptional client experience.
• Collaborate with leadership to review hospital performance, identify areas for improvement, and celebrate team successes.
• Ensure hospital protocols align with regulatory requirements and our high standards of patient care.
• Welcome tomorrow's talent. You'll be an important part of guiding the next generation of veterinary professionals by mentoring students, externs, and new graduates.
• Leadership skills development is also available with this role.
• In this position, you will have the unique opportunity not only to continue doing what you love in the exam room but also to serve as a supportive mentor for our medical team. You will split your time between providing exceptional patient care and guiding our medical team with empathy and clinical expertise.

• Proven experience as a lead Veterinarian in an active hospital with a heartfelt passion for coaching early‑career veterinarians and rotating interns, students and teams.
• Champion of Team‑Based practices, committed to collaborative practices where every role, from RVTs to Client Care, is respected, valued, and fully leveraged.
• Empathetic communicator, naturally building trust with teammates and pet parents alike, maintaining a calm, reassuring presence during fast‑paced shifts.
