About the Role:
Reporting to the Manager, Philanthropy and Strategic Partnerships, the Philanthropy Officer, Meaningful Giving is responsible for the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of high-value donors. They work collaboratively with the Philanthropy team and other leaders to build and advance strong personal and professional relationships that result in philanthropic contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations. The role serves as a resource, advocate and spokesperson for fundraising efforts. They manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects and work independently and creatively to match donor interests with CASA priorities.

The Philanthropy Officer, Meaningful Giving will:

• Develop funding proposals, negotiate and structure gifts to the organization, and prepare effective cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plans for current and prospective donors in their pipeline.
• Hold a mixed portfolio of both individual, foundation and corporate donors, soliciting partnerships and major gifts while nurturing relationships.
• Maintain a major donor and prospect portfolio of approximately 100-150 relationships with identified capacity to give at the major gift level or higher.
• Identify and track new prospects through referrals, research and outreach.
• Assist in planning specific donor engagement events as appropriate.
• Collaborate regularly on prospect identification for fundraising priorities and conduct donor prospect research.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of experience in non-profit organizations; working with individuals, corporations, foundations and legacy giving. Related experience in sales, financial services and business development will be considered .
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent years of experience will be considered.
• Knowledge and skillset with a variety of fundraising tools and strategies, and demonstrated experience with activities throughout the giving cycle, including identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship .
• Excellent writing skills, including the ability to write letters, emails and proposals with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to understand the needs and interests of major and legacy giving donors to foster relationships between them and CASA Mental Health .
• Interest in all aspects of children and youth mental health and a dedication to promoting fundraising priorities through developing excellent relationships with CASA leaders, volunteers and community representatives .
• Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation is an asset but not required.

• A satisfactory Criminal Record Check. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.
• A valid Alberta driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
