Cerco is an Ontario-based facilities management company providing janitorial and maintenance services to commercial and multi-residential properties.
We are expanding into multiple cities and are focused on building a strong local presence by ranking in the **Google Map Pack (Top 3)** and driving consistent inbound leads.
## Role Overview
We are looking for a **Local SEO Specialist** with proven experience in ranking businesses in the **Google Map Pack**.
This is not a general SEO role — we need someone who understands how to generate **local leads** through Google using **Google Business Profile (GBP)** and local search strategies.
## Key Responsibilities
* Optimize and manage **Google Business Profile (GBP)**
* Improve rankings in the **Google Map Pack (Top 3 positions)**
* Perform **local keyword research (service + city keywords)**
* Optimize website pages for **local SEO (on-page SEO, internal linking)**
* Build and manage **local citations (NAP consistency)**
* Create and optimize **city/service landing pages**
* Develop a **local backlink strategy**
* Implement and manage a **review generation strategy**
* Track performance (rankings, traffic, leads)
## Requirements
* Proven experience ranking businesses in the **Google Map Pack**
* Strong understanding of:
* Proximity, relevance, and prominence
* Google Business Profile optimization
* Experience with tools like:
* BrightLocal, Whitespark, Ahrefs, SEMrush (or similar)
* Experience with **service-area businesses (SAB)**
* Ability to create and execute a **local SEO strategy**
* Strong communication and reporting skills
