Position Overview

Title: Security Team Lead

Employment Type: Full-Time

Pay Rate: $22.53 - $23.46/hr

Site: University Health Network - West Park

Overtime Methodology: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

West Park Healthcare Centre, part of the University Health Network, provides specialized rehabilitation and complex care services to help patients regain independence and return home after life-altering illnesses. The facility offers a supportive healthcare environment dedicated to restoring dignity and quality of life for its patients.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Security Team Lead, you will oversee day-to-day security operations and provide direct guidance to our guard team. Key responsibilities include:

Providing leadership, coaching, and direction to security guards on shift.

Planning and implementing shift schedules while ensuring all post orders and routine tasks are fulfilled.

Conducting proactive and reactive security patrols across the hospital premises.

Performing security audits and thoroughly documenting and investigating incidents or complaints.

Ensuring all site staff follow security policies, complete mandatory training, and meet performance standards.

Recognizing staff achievements, providing constructive feedback, and handling disciplinary matters with accurate documentation.

Maintaining regular communication with the Client Service Manager regarding site operations.

Must Haves

Valid First Aid & CPR Level C certification from a WSIB-approved provider.

Proof of two COVID-19 vaccination doses.

Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, and a two-step Tuberculosis skin test.

Willingness to complete N95 mask fit testing during onboarding.

Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certifications (candidates without these may opt into Paladin's certification program before onboarding).

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Legal authorization to work in Canada.

Nice-to-Haves

At least 1 year of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.

Proven ability to stay calm, direct staff, and solve problems under pressure.
