Responsibilities

As a director, you will report to a principal and contribute to the implementation of the OAG’s strategic and operational priorities, aligning with the organizational vision and values.

You will lead audit operation teams responsible for the core mandate of legislative auditing. This role includes supervising and managing the performance of team members, ensuring audit quality and compliance with audit standards and OAG policies, and interacting with key internal and external interested parties.

You will contribute to transformation initiatives supporting our core business to deliver relevant, timely and high‑quality audits (performance, financial or special examinations) or audit services. You will play an important role in identifying and implementing continuous improvement measures, working with colleagues across the office.

As a Director in IT Audit, you will lead a team of IT auditors primarily supporting financial audits in conducting IT general control audits. You will also provide support for special examinations of Crown corporations and performance audits.

Willingness and ability to travel for work and to work overtime on short notice.

Work environment

Over 750 employees across Canada, including the primary Ottawa Office. The OAG is independent of government and works on behalf of Canada’s Parliament, territorial legislative assemblies, and the boards of Crown corporations that it has a mandate to audit. The incumbent will work on‑site at 240 Sparks Street in Ottawa up to five days per week.

Essential Qualifications

• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post‑secondary institution.
• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation from Canada.
• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) professional designation.
• Seven (7) to ten (10) cumulative years of information technology and systems audit experience that includes planning, conducting and reporting financial statement audits in accordance with International Standards on Auditing or Canadian Auditing Standards.
• Minimum of three (3) consecutive years of experience in a management role, managing human and financial resources at a director or equivalent level.
• Significant experience managing teams that are testing and/or relying on controls in different IT environments (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Windows, Linux, Mainframe, AWS, Azure).
• Significant experience developing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external interested parties.

Language requirements (essential)

• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) certifications.
• Experience in applying data analytics in audits, automated audit workflows, and advanced technology in conducting financial audits and/or IT audits.
