In 2022, Lethbridge was recognized as one of Canada's top small cities. Position Details The University of Lethbridge is seeking a full-time, continuing position as an Accounting Clerk IV. Reporting to the Manager Accounting and Tax this position fulfills a variety of functions across the Operating unit, consisting of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable/Cash Office. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the University's procurement card program, invoicing external entities, a variety of reconciliation and analysis tasks, and ad hoc projects. This position works closely with procurement cardholders, external customers, and numerous internal stakeholders. The University of Lethbridge is undertaking a job classification review for Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) positions. As such, the classification level currently assigned for this position may be adjusted as a result of this project. Position Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a two-year Business Administration diploma, which includes intermediate level accounting courses, and 2-4 years' related work experience. A combination of suitable education and experience may be considered. A demonstrable knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and an intermediate level of proficiency using Microsoft Excel and Word are also required. Experience using the Banner Finance system would be an asset. This is a fast paced, dynamic environment where the incumbent must be able to organize and schedule multiple activities to meet deadlines, pay keen attention to details leading to a high degree of accuracy, and enjoy contributing to department success by contributing to ad hoc projects and priorities. Candidates must possess excellent communication and analytical skills, be service oriented, and able to work independently. The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
