Senior Warehouse Supervisor

Job Responsibility: SENIOR WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR Position Summary The Senior Warehouse Supervisor will ensure the efficient and safe operation of the warehouse and its equipment. Accountable for ensuring inventory accuracy, supervision of forklift operators, organization and cleanliness of the AS/RS warehouse and Dry Storage while encouraging safe work and good manufacturing practices. Develop a positive relationship with other department to assist in QA, Safety, customer related audits and provide creative solutions. Support plant goals by planning and directing the daily requirements of the Cold and Dry storage warehouse. Relationships and Contacts This person reports directly to the Warehouse Manager. Major Responsibilities

• Responsible for all dry goods and report any discrepancies or any logistics issues.

• Monitoring all ingredients and supplies needed for operations and ordering when needed.

• Responsible for teams' output and efficiency within scheduled deadlines.

• Ensure staff works in a safe manner (following lockout/tag out, company policies and procedures).

• Develop, lead, and coach employees through effective training and recognition.

• Foster and maintain a positive labor relations environment by ensuring that all employees are treated with respect. Ensuring grievances are dealt with in a timely manner, and employee concerns are managed in accordance with the collective agreement.

• Document and maintain accurate records with respect to employee performance, productivity, health and safety, and attendance.

• Help maintain accurate warehouse inventories along with accurate shipping loads.

• Drive continuous improvement of key performance indicators through effective communication of issues.

• Perform all duties in the absence of the Warehouse Manager.

• Responsible for teams' output and efficiency within scheduled deadlines.

• Identify areas within the warehouse for improvements and initiate actions needed.

• Initiate cycle counts when needed & scheduled.

• Receive all incoming goods in a timely & accurate manner

• Ensure all trailer inspections are complete & verified

• Excellent understanding of JDE, Mercury Gate & WAMAS software systems.

• Maintain both the AS/RS & Dry Storage warehouse areas and equipment to Irving standards. (high reliability and well-maintained professional appearance)

• Other duties as assigned

Health and Safety Responsibilities

• Using or wearing the protective equipment designated by the accident prevention policy.

• Follow safe work procedures.

• Reporting any unsafe conditions or acts immediately.

• Reporting all accidents or injuries immediately.

Food Safety Responsibilities

• Commitment to Quality System Policy.

• Enforce quality and food safety programs within the role.

• Communication of food safety issues to related department and action within the role.

• Active participation in food safety, food security, health, sanitation, hygiene and quality program within the role.

Qualifications and Abilities

• 3 or more years' experience in an AS/RS warehouse, cold storage warehouse or food distribution/manufacturing environment.

• 3 or more years supervisory experience is an asset.

• Understanding of FEFO & FIFO and its impact to the warehouse.

• Proven decision-making ability.

• A proven track record of being pro-active and taking initiative.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Displays continuous improvement skills / experience.

• PC skills required,

• Experience with Excel, Word, and Kronos is an asset
