A Day in the Life of a Senior Project Manager at Esri Canada:

• Lead assigned Professional Services projects from initiation through close-out, including complex, multi-workstream engagements.
• Define and manage project scope, delivery approach, milestones, and integrated schedules, ensuring alignment to contractual commitments.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts, and change control, including tracking financial performance and ensuring timely approvals.
• Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, and implement mitigation strategies with appropriate escalation.
• Facilitate effective governance and stakeholder engagement, including client leadership communications, steering discussions, and decision tracking.
• Lead quality management activities, including quality planning and coordination of testing and acceptance to support deliverable readiness.
• Coordinate and oversee third-party resources and subcontractors, including onboarding, deliverable tracking, and performance management within project terms.
• Contribute to scoping, estimating, and statement of work development for new work or change initiatives, supporting practical delivery planning.

Minimum Education Requirement:

• Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, GIS, or a related field.
• An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirement:

• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in project management within a consulting, professional services, or technology delivery environment.
• Experience leading complex technology and/or GIS projects that may include data migration, systems integration, or custom development.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.

Additional Requirements:

• Proven ability to apply established project management methodologies, tools, and processes to complex, client‑facing delivery engagements.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, competing priorities, and delivery timelines.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and align both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills to identify risks and issues and support timely, practical resolution.
• Solid working knowledge of project financial management, including budget tracking, forecasting, and change control.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within cross‑functional and geographically distributed delivery teams.
• Ability to maintain productive, professional relationships in client‑facing environments while managing expectations and delivery commitments.
• Experience delivering enterprise GIS or technology projects within asset‑intensive or public‑sector‑oriented environments (e.g., infrastructure, utilities, transportation, or land information) is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with asset management, permitting, or case management platforms (such as Trimble Cityworks, Trimble Unity, or similar solutions) used in client delivery contexts is considered an asset.
• Bilingual proficiency (English / French) is considered an asset.
