Senior Turnaround Department Lead

Job Responsibility:

WestCorp is looking for a Senior Turnaround Department Lead for one of our clients in Vancouver, BC.

JOB SUMMARY The Senior Turnaround Department Lead provides leadership in matters related to the planning, execution, assessment, governance and analysis. Develops, leads, and sustains the site Turnaround organization.

Description & Responsibilities

• Ownership of all Turnaround related guidelines, standards, procedures, cost estimating and scheduling practices and processes.
• Talent management of and mentoring of professionals.

Drive continuous improvement using metrics and benchmarking to validate performance and verify required core competencies.

• Mentor management teams in the execution of Turnaround through all phases of the process.
• Own the Turnaround scope development process in accordance with established business objectives.
• Establish Turnaround Team(s) responsible for delivery of Turnaround success.
• Provide Governance and Stewardship on all Turnaround plans, on behalf of Leadership Team.
• Track and report spending and status on all centrally managed Turnaround plans.
• With the Turnaround Team, define the premise, philosophy & goals for the overall Turnaround plan.
• Compliance to goals for safety and environmental performance during Turnaround development and execution.
• Ensure work execution adheres to the defined quality expectations as per the Turnaround Execution Plan.
• Ensure execution of the Turnaround scope of work as per the execution plan and within the defined parameters for EH&S, quality, cost and schedule.
• Continuous improvement of the Turnaround organization, planning and execution process.

REQUIREMENTS Critical Skills

• Comprehensive experience in Turnaround Management.
• Expert knowledge of the Maintenance, Turnaround, capital projects and construction industry, techniques and best practices.
• Subject matter expert in the development of Turnaround Plans.
• Working knowledge of Industrial engineering, safety, and IHS standards and procedure.
• Computer knowledge (MS Office Programs, SAP, etc.).
• Able to read computerized schedules (e.g.: scheduling logic, manpower resource loading & histograms).
• Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent preferred. Other educational backgrounds may be considered in combination with significant experience working in Turnaround Management
• 20 - 30 years' experience in Turnaround is required.
• Experience in managing a Turnaround team is required.
• Experience in implementing procedures and processes is required.
