Manager, Regulatory and Policy

The New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board (NBEUB) plays a critical role in regulating utilities and industries in the public interest, helping shape decisions that impact affordability, reliability, sustainability, and the future of energy across the province. NBEUB is seeking a Manager, Regulatory & Policy to join its multidisciplinary team in a role that combines strategic thinking, complex analysis, and meaningful public impact. In this position, you will lead the review and analysis of complex regulatory applications and provide independent expertise and recommendations that support Board decisions and adjudicative processes.
Working closely with regulatory, legal, financial, engineering, and technical professionals, you will contribute to hearings and stakeholder discussions while analyzing complex issues related to economics, system planning, forecasting, engineering, and regulatory policy. You will also support broader regulatory initiatives tied to emerging sector trends such as electrification, climate policy, affordability, and system reliability. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience working within complex regulatory or policy environments, and the ability to synthesize information into clear, actionable insights. Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline along with at least seven years of relevant experience in regulatory, policy, or analytical roles. Experience in energy, utilities, infrastructure, or other highly regulated sectors will be highly valued, while leadership experience, graduate education, knowledge of New Brunswick’s regulatory environment, and French proficiency would be considered assets.
Salary Range
$101,218 - $113,906 annually
