Middle School Learning Strategist

Permanent, Full-time

Commencing August 2025

A unique opportunity exists at The Country Day School for an Ontario-certified teacher to

join our Middle School faculty in the role of Learning Strategist. The ideal candidate will

be a qualified and experienced strategist who is highly relational and passionate about

understanding the whole child in order to enable students to achieve their learning goals.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting and supporting Middle School students in developing appropriate

learning strategies, setting and meeting academic and personal goals, and

achieving self-advocacy.

• Providing individual learning support to students, as required.
• Initiating a plan for accommodations and interventions for those students with a

formal educational assessment.

• Coordinating and leading regular grade meetings with faculty and administrators

to monitor student progress.

• Educating faculty on learning differences and best practices in instruction and

assessment.

• Collaborating with Middle and Senior School strategists and counsellors to

ensure a strong learning strategies program.

• Implementing the use of assistive technologies and teaching students how to use

these programs effectively.

• Teaching classes in Grade 8 Guidance classes.

• monitors student learning and uses assessment to improve teaching and learning

• focuses on mastery learning and deep understanding

• offers appropriately challenging tasks and goals
• excels at the relational aspects of teaching
