Job Summary

The Hellenic Academy of York is seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal to lead our High School Credit Program. The ideal candidate will be a visionary educator with a deep understanding of Greek culture, language, and education. The Principal will be responsible for the overall administration of the school, including curriculum development, staff management, student engagement, and community relations.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Administration

• Provides visionary leadership to ensure the school's mission and goals are achieved.

• Oversees daily school operations, policies and procedures and ensure a safe, nurturing learning environment.

• Monitor and evaluate teaching methods, materials, and programs to promote student learning and teacher effectiveness.

• Support teachers in implementing best practices and innovative teaching strategies.

Staff Management

• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise qualified staff.

• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities.

• Foster a positive and collaborative school culture among staff and students.

Student Engagement and Support

• Promote high academic and behavioral standards.

• Ensure appropriate support services are available to meet the diverse needs of students.

• Encourage student participation in cultural, extracurricular, and community activities.

• Community and Parental Involvement.

• Act as the primary liaison between the school and the Greek community.

• Facilitate strong relationships with parents, encouraging their involvement

• Represent the school at community events and foster partnerships with local organizations.

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

• Degree in Education, Educational Administration, or a related field.

• Valid school administrator certification (preferred).

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an educational leadership role.

• Experience in Greek language education and cultural programs.

• Proven track record of effective school administration and leadership.

Skills and Attributes

• Strong leadership and organizational skills.

• Proficiency in Greek and English languages.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to inspire and motivate staff, students, and the community.

Pay: $35.00 per hour
