Men's World is seeking a full-time Seamstress or Tailor
Duties include:
- Repairs and alterations of various garments such as hemming, tapering, patching, zipper replacement, etc
- Operating industrial & domestic sewing machines
- Precisely cutting, and sewing clients' garments
- Ironing and steaming clothing
Additional duties may include:
- Taking clients' measurements for suit rentals
- Operation a cash registers, greeting customers, helping customers in store
- Marking and pinning customers' garments for alterations
- Answering the phone
- Light cleaning of the store space and staff areas
- Packing, folding, laundering of winter outerwear rental clothing
Flexible hours, free on-site parking, health benefits package available.
Qualifications:
- Ability to sew, alter and repair garments
- 1-2 years experience in sewing or tailoring
- experienced using industrial sewing machines would be an asset
- Formal education in sewing/tailoring is considered an asset, but not required
- Friendly demeanor with some retail or customer service experience
Please be prepared to demonstrate your sewing abilities if called for an interview.
Wage dependent upon training and experience.
