We are currently seeking a talented individual to join the Summer School team. Summer School provides

a supportive and focused learning environment where dedicated educators help

students improve their skills through personalized instruction and

collaborative efforts. This position provides the opportunity to teach diverse

mixed-grade or mixed-course classes in small groups during four weeks of

half-day sessions, tailoring lessons to each student's needs, and frequently

evaluating and reporting on their progress.

Position: Summer School Teacher- ½ days

Start Date: June 22nd, 2026

End Date: July 17th, 2026

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor

  of Education

• Recent

  experience teaching English or Mathematics or Science at the secondary

  level

Desired knowledge, skills, and suitability

The ideal candidate will possess these qualifications,

skills, and knowledge, but also demonstrate suitability for the role and

organizational culture:

• Ability

  to plan, organize and manage secondary students in a classroom setting;

• Ability

  to adapt curriculum to meet a range of learning styles and abilities;

• Excellent

  interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills;

• Knowledge

  of and sensitivity towards the culture and aspirations of Yukon First

  Nations and a culturally diverse student population.

• Previous

  Yukon Summer School Experience would be an asset;

• Recent

  Yukon teaching experience in subject area;

Conditions of Employment

This is a designated position within the Yukon public

service which requires the following condition(s) of employment:

• Successful

  applicants will be required to undergo a security clearance including

  vulnerable sector check.

• To

  be a Teacher in Yukon, you must be certified in another Canadian province/

  territory first.
