Shift Information : days Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: No Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Speech Language Pathologist - Masters Senior $46.774 to $57.195 Travel Required: Yes : Within a multidisciplinary team provides professional leadership as a speech and language pathologist in the development and process of clinical consultative services with the Kids First Program and the children and families they serve. Human Resources Exemption: No Education

• Master of Speech Language Pathology (SLP)

Licenses

• Licensed or eligible for licensure with Saskatchewan Association of Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists.

Experience

• A minimum of five years (post Master Degree in Speech and Language) of clinical experience in a child/adolescent community setting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Extensive knowledge of models of assessment and therapeutic interventions appropriate for the treatment of children's speech and language diagnoses and the inter-related emotional disturbances, learning disabilities, socialization and behavioral problems with at risk populations. Significant experience in the assessment and provision of therapeutic interventions appropriate to the treatment of children's speech and language disorders/delays within the context of other mental health disorders and family functioning and demonstrated skill in conducting and monitoring individual, family and group treatment programs. Knowledge of assessment and treatment techniques appropriate to an aboriginal/multicultural population. Knowledge of aboriginal culture, values and traditions and their impact on accessing formal/mental health services. Knowledge of and experience with utilizing a range of diagnostic instruments and clinical observation skills typically used to assess speech and language disorders in preschool children . Knowledge of the Mental Health Act, the Family Services Act and the Saskatchewan Model of Recovery. Leadership abilities to develop and maintain consulting relationships within a multidisciplinary team, interagency programs and across the community of human services. Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team and independently to manage complex and multiple demands. Demonstrated skill in mentoring, training and supervising speech and language pathologists and related disciplines. Ability to design, conduct and evaluate educational and training opportunities related to speech and language disorders in preschool children to various targeted audiences . Demonstrated skill in the area of research, and resource development. Ability to cope with stress. Sound written and oral communication skills.

• Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement. HSAS seniority within the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be considered under the Selection Criteria.
• This position is currently located at Al Ritchie Heritage Community Health Centre, 1550 - 14th Avenue (subject to change).
