Shift Information : days; field hours Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: Yes Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Social Worker - MSW Senior $44.261 to $54.125 Travel Required: Yes : Within the framework of the Primary Health Care (PHC) Networks, in alignment with the PHC clinical counselling model, the Masters of Social Work Senior (MSW Sr.) will provide professional leadership in the development and delivery of services to the KidsFirst program. The MSW Sr. will provide focused mental health and addictions clinical services, evaluation and consultation to KidsFirst families, and provide clinical consultation to contracted KidsFirst agencies. The incumbent has a formal supervisory (clinical/professional and/or administrative) relationship for the KidsFirst team. This includes employees, preceptor for students in formal clinical practicums, and provides professional and public education regarding mental health and addiction issues and resources. They will be required to demonstrate authoritative knowledge and clinical expertise as well as exhibit strong interpersonal skills in this role. This position requires the ability to provide consultation, education, and training within the KidsFirst team within Primary Health Care of mental health and addictions services, incorporating best practice and evidence-based research. Human Resources Exemption: No Education

• Recognized Masters Degree in Social Work

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience working with youth and families presenting with mental health diagnoses.
• Extensive training in assessment and treatment techniques appropriate to those affected by mental health diagnoses.
• Extensive experience working with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques with youth and adults.
• Extensive experience in family and group intervention modalities.
• Experience in working in partnership within the community.
• Experience in working independently, and as a member of a team, with minimal supervision.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Significant experience in the assessment and treatment of mental health diagnosis and intervention with youth, adults and their families.
• Extensive knowledge of best practice or empirically based models of assessment, management and treatment of mental health diagnoses. Ability to carry out program evaluation.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skill in social work intervention methodologies including family systems theory, therapy, group work and case management.
• Skills in program planning, consultation and evaluation.
• Experience in community program consultation and resource development for those involved with individuals with mental health diagnoses within the community.
• Demonstrated skill in the area of compiling, analyzing and disseminating research.
• Ability to design, initiate and conduct in-service training for other professionals.
• Experience in providing public education regarding youth and adults with mental health concerns.
• Leadership abilities and professional maturity to develop and maintain relationships within a multidisciplinary team, interagency programs and within the community of those providing human services.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, workload management, staff development and skills related to resource coordination.
• Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively as a member of a multidisciplinary team and ability to independently manage complex and multiple demands while co-coordinating workload.
• Demonstrated skill in mentoring, training and clinically supervising social workers and related disciplines.
• Comprehensive knowledge of legislation that impacts the work of clinicians working with clients in the mental health field and awareness of its potential to facilitate and constrain clinical practice.
• Highly developed oral and written communication skills. Ability to prepare reports in a clear concise and timely manner. Ability to provide public presentation and professional training
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
• Knowledge and practical application of the Mental Health Services Act and Health Information Protection Act.

Other Information

• Current practicing registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW).
• Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement. HSAS seniority within the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be considered under the Selection Criteria.
• Must have a valid driver's license. Some assignments may require access to a vehicle for work.
