What is the opportunity?

As a Lead Cloud Operations Engineer , you will play a critical role in the reliability, scalability, and performance of Zafin’s SaaS platform. In addition to performing advanced technical duties, this role includes leadership responsibilities, such as mentoring team members, driving continuous improvement, and serving as a backup to the Cloud Operations Manager when needed. You will serve as a key point of contact across teams, providing both strategic and hands-on support in operational excellence and cloud-native practices.

What will you do?

• Lead and execute the design, deployment, and maintenance of Zafin’s SaaS environment, including infrastructure and application stacks across public cloud platforms.


• Own the operational stability and performance of production and pre-production environments, including proactive patch management and rolling updates for both infrastructure and application layers.


• Investigate, resolve, and perform root cause analysis for complex environmental and operational issues .


• Identify and drive operational efficiencies and process improvements across the Cloud Operations team.


• Design, build, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows to ensure rapid and reliable delivery.


• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, QA, security, and product teams to champion best practices in release and environment management.


• Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on Zafin’s SaaS platform architecture, operational procedures, and cloud infrastructure.


• Lead and participate in an on-call rotation, ensuring 24/7 availability of critical services and rapid response to incidents.


• Actively engage with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate changes, manage communications, and ensure alignment with business needs.


• Mentor junior engineers , review technical work, and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability within the team.


• Step in as the  acting Cloud Operations Manager when required, including handling escalations, representing the team

What do you need to succeed?

Must Haves:

• 6-12 years of proven working experience in infrastructure deployment and maintenance


• Working experience on application security using Azure provided resources


• Experienced with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) deployment (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)


• Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Wiki 


• Must be able to use and work with user interface-based applications 


• Solid knowledge on Cloud computing


• Solid Azure cloud hands on experience


• Solid understanding of SRE best practices


• Solid hands-on experience on Linux Operating System and maintenance


• Experience working with automated deployment pipelines preferably on Azure DevOps


• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes / OpenShif
