We are currently looking for a skilled and experienced full-time Corporate Tax Accountant to join our team in Winnipeg.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review corporate tax returns for over 50 legal entities per year, notably in the health, property, and financial services sectors.
- Ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations. Note that the corporate entities operate mainly out of Manitoba and Alberta.
- Analyze financial statements and other relevant documents to determine tax liabilities.
- Provide strategic tax planning to optimize corporate tax positions.
- Stay updated on the latest tax laws and regulations and ensure compliance with changes.
- Assist in tax audits and liaise with tax authorities as needed.
- Complete all GST, PST and Corporate Tax fillings.
- Maintain the corporate minutes books. Complete all legal annual returns and adhoc corporate resolutions.
- Assist the CFO in reviewing SPAs and ASAs.
- Assist the CFO in the setup and monitoring of new legal entities.
Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in preparing corporate tax returns.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
