This position will be based in Winnipeg.

Your role

Reporting to the Senior Production Manager for Manitoba and Saskatchewan you are responsible for posting content on the regional web pages serving those two provinces. You participate in developing supervising and vetting all content published on the two regional pages. You also help develop and design special digital and mobile projects in consultation with the digital editor other digital producers and the national network team. You keep up with the latest trends in digital technology applications and tools. You create opportunities to share your knowledge with other station staff.

Tasks:

• Supporting senior producers and other digital producers supervise programmers assigned to digital platforms.
• Assist in developing and implementing digital objectives for the station.
• Supervise the rollout of the Manitoba and Saskatchewan web pages and social media platforms including the publication of content on the weekend digital platforms.
• Edit digital news articles and text accompanying audio/video consoles.
• Supervise digital writers who contribute content to digital platforms.
• Support program teams in their digital and mobile endeavours.
• Support the design and implementation of special digital projects. Work in tandem with the digital editor other digital producers and the national network team on those projects.
• Write digital news articles.
• Produce and post value-added content for the regional web page digital articles and social media.
• Format audio/video material for publication on our regional web page.
• Keep up with latest digital trends technologies and tools and share your knowledge with colleagues.

This role requires full-time on-site presence.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

• University degree or equivalent.
• At least five (5) years experience of which three (3) must involve work in broadcasting or an industry directly related to the area of assignment.
• Three (3) or more years relevant experience helping create and publish written content for the web and social media.
• A proven track record of growing and sustaining an online audience using social media tools and other tactics.
• Bilingualism (English and French) required.
• Knowledge of Manitoba and Saskatchewan issues and Franco-Manitoban and Fransaskois community issues.
• Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada journalistic and programming policies.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and respond to many competing demands in a short space of time.
• Familiarity or experience with Scoop is an asset.
