Meridia Recruitment Solutions is excited to be partnered with Atlantic Hardchrome to recruit a Department Supervisor, Quality Assurance to join their team located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.



Role Description:
Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Department Supervisor, Quality Assurance is responsible for leading Atlantic Hardchrome's quality assurance function and overseeing a team of Quality Inspectors. This role provides leadership across quality assurance activities, special project oversight, customer communication, auditing, compliance, and technical support.


In this role, you will support the organization's quality management systems through audit activities, root cause investigations, compliance oversight, and ongoing interaction with customers and internal teams.



Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the team responsible for final QA inspection of manufactured and repaired parts.
• Managing the scheduling and daily activities of the Quality Inspectors.
• Reviewing daily non-conformance reports (NCRs) and determining appropriate follow-up actions.
• Conducting root cause investigations for significant quality issues and documenting findings.
• Monitoring NCR data to identify trends and support efforts to reduce recurring issues.
• Planning, scheduling, and monitoring special projects.
• Scheduling progress meetings with management and customers to ensure continued communication and customer support.
• Planning and completing internal and external audits.
• Overseeing company compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, CWB, Controlled Goods, and Environmental requirements.
• Monitoring QA documentation to ensure compliance with applicable customer standards, industry codes and practices, and company quality systems.
• Operating inspection equipment, including CMMs, profilometers, micrometers, and other measuring devices.
• Providing technical support to operations with a focus on chemistry for plating.
• Developing standard operating procedures to standardize and control internal and external processes.
• Continually interacting with customers to interpret their needs and requirements.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Operations.

Your Qualifications
As the ideal candidate, you bring quality assurance leadership experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment and a strong technical foundation. You are comfortable leading investigations, supporting audits, overseeing quality processes, and working directly with customers and internal stakeholders.



Key qualifications include:

• Degree, diploma, or educational background in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline is preferred.
• 5+ years of QA supervisory experience in a machining, manufacturing, or related industrial environment. 
• Lead Auditor training is preferred. 
• Experience planning and completing internal and external audits.
• Experience overseeing quality assurance activities within a manufacturing environment. 
• Experience conducting root cause investigations and managing non-conformance reports (NCRs). 
• Experience supervising quality personnel. 
• Strong communication and organizational skills. 

Assets include: 

• Experience supporting plating operations or chemistry-related manufacturing processes.
• Experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Experience with AS9100 quality management systems is an asset.
• Experience operating CMMs, profilometers, micrometers, and other inspection equipment.
• Experience within machining, manufacturing, marine, defense, metal finishing, or electronics manufacturing environments.
