FREB45H3 - Introduction to Linguistics: French Morphology and Syntax - Winter 2027
Course description : An examination of the internal structure of words and sentences in French. Covered are topics including word formation, grammatical categories, syntactic structure of simple and complex clauses, and grammatical relations of subject, predicate and complement.This course complements (FREB43H3) and FREB44H3.

Salary : In accordance with the current CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement, the stipend rate for a half course (Y, F or S), inclusive of vacation pay, will be: Sessional Lecturer I: $9,997.47Sessional Lecturer I – Long Term: $10,699.21
Sessional Lecturer II: $10,699.21
Sessional Lecturer II – Long Term: $10,953.96
Sessional Lecturer III: $10,953.95
Sessional Lecturer III – Long Term: $11,228.90 Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. Appointment Dates : January 11, 2027 to May 5, 2027

Minimum Qualifications : Ph.D. in French (specializing in syntax - foundations and formal framework of generative syntax). Native or near-native proficiency in French and experience teaching French as a second language. Strong academic record and professional promise.
Preferred Qualifications : Preference will be given to those who have previously taught FREB45H3 or equivalent.
Duties: All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours.
