NEW BRUNSWICK HOUSING CORPORATION EXPRESSION OF INTEREST: Pay Band 4/5 Open Competition - Temporary Opportunity Federal-Provincial-Territorial Secretariat Opportunity

Housing New Brunswick (HNB) is seeking expressions of interest from Pay Band 4 and 5 employees for roles in contributing to the development of an FPT Secretariat. Over the next few years, HNB will be preparing to assume a stronger leadership role in FPT housing collaboration, requiring strong coordination, policy analysis, strategic advice, and relationship management across many levels of government. This initiative aims to identify employees for temporary assignments, projects, development opportunities, or future roles within the evolving Secretariat.

About the Opportunity:

The FPT Secretariat will help advance New Brunswick`s housing priorities through effective intergovernmental coordination, clear advice to senior leaders, and timely support for national and regional housing discussions. The Secretariat will work closely with HNB teams, partners across the Government of New Brunswick, federal departments and other provinces and territories.

This is an opportunity to gain exposure to high-priority intergovernmental work, strengthen briefing and policy skills, and contribute directly to Housing New Brunswick`s readiness for future FPT leadership responsibilities while helping to shape a team that will become increasingly important to the organization over the coming years.

Key Areas of Work:

Employees selected through this process may support a range of activities, including but not limited to:

• Support preparation for FPT, Provinces and Territories (PT), Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM), Deputy Minister and Minister-level meetings, including briefing notes, speaking notes, agendas, decision materials, and follow-up summaries.
• Leadership and collaboration on national working groups, including organizing facilitating and driving the agenda for multi-jurisdictional meetings to align strategic housing initiatives across regions.
• Development and delivery of high impact presentations for senior executives, intergovernmental partners, and stakeholder forums. Presentations must effectively communicate key insights, progress metrics, and strategic opportunities, and should reflect a high standard of analytical and visual clarity.
• Track federal, provincial and territorial housing developments, commitments, risks and opportunities relevant to New Brunswick.
• Coordinate input from HNB divisions and other departments to support clear and consistent provincial positions.
• Assist with federal agreement management, action plans, reporting, claims, performance tracking and related governance materials.
• Cross-jurisdictional analysis and reporting: includes performing in-depth jurisdictional analysis of housing policies, funding allocations, and performance outcomes and will involve synthesizing complex data sets to provide evidence-based insights and recommendations to senior leadership and working groups.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners.

Need to have:

• A bachelor`s degree in business, sociology, or a related field and four (4) or five (5) years of related work experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Some positions only require English. Please state your language capability.

• Comfort working with ambiguity and helping build new processes as the Secretariat develops.

Pay Band 4 - $ 59, 644 - $ 83, 408 annually.
