Position Summary

We have an opportunity for a Production Supervisor to join our team reporting directly to the Site Director. This role plays a key part in ensuring the safe and efficient production of high-quality pharmaceutical products while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory standards. You will lead and empower your team to achieve operational excellence and continuous improvement. This position offers the chance to contribute to a growing facility dedicated to innovation and quality.

Shift: Monday-Friday 8 AM-4:30 PM; Transition to 12-hour shifts in the future
Location: Adair, ON
100% Onsite

The Role

• Meet daily production objectives and manage each shift to ensure production efficiency, optimizing the use of resources, labor, equipment, and materials.
• Supervise a team of hourly employees with a strong focus on engagement and performance.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, efficiency, uptime, cost, and Quality Control objectives, as well as adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Assist in troubleshooting and investigations to address off-standard results.
• Maintain safety, health, and environmental procedures, identifying and correcting potential issues while driving continuous improvement through Risk Assessment strategies.
• Schedule manpower, machinery, and materials to meet or exceed budget requirements, resolving work problems and recommending productivity and quality improvements.
• Work extended hours or weekends as needed to meet deadlines or address operational issues.
• Perform other duties as required.

The Candidate

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED/CAEC and/or educational credential assessment (ECA) is required.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience leading and supervising a team in a manufacturing environment, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage a diverse workforce and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Must be clean shaven to wear a respirator, as required by Health & Safety standards.
• Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent-sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience.
• Currently, Catalent participates in the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) on a limited basis.
• Candidates with non-Canadian credentials must provide an evaluation confirming Canadian equivalency through the Alliance of Credential Evaluation Services of Canada (ACESC), such as World Education Services (WES).
• The employee's role frequently involves sitting and utilizing hands and fingers for tasks such as handling, feeling, and keyboard manipulation, necessitating manual dexterity. Occasionally, the position requires standing, walking, reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, alongside close vision capabilities and potential exposure to chemicals.

Preferred Skills & Background

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and a thorough understanding of occupational health and safety regulations in Ontario.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve production issues, optimize processes, and drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including quality control, supply chain, and engineering.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks, allocate resources effectively, and meet production schedules.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Pay

The final salary offered to a successful candidate may vary within this range $65,000 – $80,000, and will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, skillset, education, business needs, etc. Catalent is a global employer, and this salary range does not reflect positions that work in other countries.
