Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the Team Lead Video Conferencing Services, the VC (Video Conference) Cloud and Core Analyst is responsible to provide enterprise level support of GOA cloud and video conferencing services in a highly technical manner across the Government. The analyst's primary role is to ensure all technical video core services, related applications, and Operating Systems (OS), and software are properly maintained with minimal downtime. This position is assigned operational and project work that is typically focused on a specific aspect of information technology (IT). When performing routine operational and project assignments, this position functions independently and focus on providing tier 2-3 support of 700+ Cisco endpoints, 100 Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR's) and various video collaboration tools. The environment contains numerous video core servers as well as cloud and web-based conferencing and collaboration technologies (such as Microsoft Teams, Webex and Zoom). To fulfill service requirements, the VC Cloud and Core Analyst will participate in technical consultation, engagement, and planning activities, however, this position receives mentoring and guidance when dealing with more complex or unusual situations. This position collaborates with Network and Active Directory Service (ADS)/ Identity and Access Management analysts, Security specialists, as well as all levels of Government to meet ministry client and stakeholders (internal and external) needs.

Responsibilities: Some of the role responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• Providing technical day-to-day operational support of video conferencing services such as analyzing and maintaining GoA video conference (VC) core and edge services and infrastructure, performing software and firmware upgrades, ensuring customer service delivery expectations are met, monitoring system performance and capacity to ensure service levels are maintained, Participating in reviews and evaluation of video based hardware, software, and cloud services, and in the preparation of technology recommendations.
• Providing consultation to Ministry departments through operational information technology projects or support by evaluating client needs and expectations, consulting on potential VC service deployment, equipment purchases, and upgrades, developing processes, procedures, and reports to standardize service across multiple ministries.
• Functioning as a Technical resource within a team environment, to provide for the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of existing and new video conferencing based technology and applications within the VC team by working to ensure applications are tested and implemented in an efficient, effective and well-controlled manner (change management), acting as a Tier 2-3 resource to team members in support of clients as required for timely and reliable operation of all video conferencing information technology application and services, assisting in the development and maintenance of Disaster Recovery plans for video conferencing services, and can acts as a technical resource during service outages, coordinating activities with GoA video conferencing suppliers and vendors as required.

Qualifications

Required:

• University graduation in a related field such as Computer Sciences, Information Technology.
• 2 years of progressively responsible related experience in utilizing VCS and Expressway for video communication and IP traversal. This includes:
  • Firewall traversal and non-traversal video calls
  • Creation and configuration of zones and sub-zones
  • H.323 or third-party endpoints
  • SIP Proxy/Registrar
  • Video call and control
  • Bandwidth Management (per call and aggregate)
  • Able to transverse Microsoft and WebEx calls

Equivalencies:

• A related two-year diploma in computer technology or a related discipline from a recognized postsecondary institution and four years related experience; or
• A related one-year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and five years related experience.
