Programmer II - Events, Volunteers and Film

The District of Saanich's Parks, Recreation and Community Services department is seeking a team player to help drive our mission of Healthy Nature, Healthy People, and Healthy Community, while supporting our vision: a Saanich where everyone belongs. The Community Services Division is seeking an experienced Programmer II to lead the Events, Volunteers and Film portfolio. This temporary assignment provides an opportunity to coordinate high-profile community programs and services that connect residents, organizations and visitors with Saanich through events, volunteer engagement and film activity. The Programmer II is responsible for planning, coordinating, promoting and evaluating District events and festivals; supporting permitting for third-party events; overseeing the volunteer services portfolio, including supervision and direction of a Programmer I; and coordinating film activities and related permits within Saanich. The role also develops and maintains community partnerships, provides recommendations on service delivery, supports strategic initiatives and projects, participates in budget development, monitors expenditures and revenues, and helps ensure effective use of public resources.
