Utility Plans Coordinator

Job Responsibility:
Under the direction of the Infrastructure and Environmental Coordinator, the Utility Plans Coordinator is responsible for providing engineering review, approval, and inspection of Municipal Consent and Road Occupancy Permit applications; and, establishing and maintaining a database of all drawing and correspondence records.
Job Requirements- Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering Technology or related field, and eligible for a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation is required.
- Strong demonstrated experience in an urban municipal public works environment and experience with engineering plan review and formal approval processes is required.
- Excellent working knowledge of the Municipal Act (O.Reg. 366/18, amending Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Highways), Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Highway Traffic Act, the Ontario Traffic Manual, as well as the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, Electrical Safety Codes, provincial statues and other Regulations that are in accordance with job responsibilities are required.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), AutoCAD, and ArcMap for GIS applications. Experience with Accela Suite (Civic Solutions) would be considered an asset.
- Strong prioritizing, problem solving, conflict resolution, collaboration, organizational and planning skills as well as the ability to multi-task.
- Strong verbal and written communication as well as report writing skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and to exercise judgement.
- Class G Driver's License in good standing with own reliable vehicle for use on corporate business.
