As the leader of our Mont-Saint-Hilaire office’s Civil and Structural Engineering department, you’ll ensure all the team’s operational needs are met. You’ll be responsible for departmental talent development, performance, technical excellence and sustainable growth. You’ll work closely with project teams in various disciplines and BBA leadership to help your team use resources optimally and achieve the office’s goals.Type of position: RegularLocated in Mont-Saint-Hilaire, the BBA head office is the heart of our operations and a hub for many shared services. Department management and leadership
Engage, mentor and develop managers and team membersPromote collaboration across offices, disciplines and departmentsDevelop expertise, innovation and best practicesHelp promote the department both internally and to clientsResource and performance management
Help meet productivity, quality and growth targetsSupport excellence in strategic project implementationsKeep a balanced portfolio of OPEX and CAPEX projectsPromote client, market and mandate diversificationCoordinate and optimize resource useTechnical excellence – Civil and structural engineering for hydropower
Provide technical leadership to the Civil and Structural Engineering department in complex hydroelectric infrastructure projectsSupport teams on projects involving major hydroelectric structures, including dams, dikes, spillways, intakes, headrace and tailrace canals, penstocks, tunnels, galleries, power plant buildings, equipment foundations, retaining walls, access structures, and other related structuresPromote knowledge sharing and technical coachingBe a reference point for clients and internal teams to showcase the department’s expertise on high value-added mandatesTalent development
Support employee recruitment, onboarding and retentionHelp develop skills and the next generationPrepare and implement succession plans for key positionsAssist department managers with leadershipBusiness development

Over 10 years of relevant engineering experienceRecognized technical expertise in energy sector civil/structural engineering, with proven experience in hydroelectric and industrial infrastructureSignificant experience with structures such as dams, dikes, spillways, intakes, canals, penstocks, tunnels, galleries, power plant buildings, equipment foundations, concrete and steel structures, retaining structures, and other related infrastructureProven experience managing teams, developing talent and mentoring technical leadersBusiness development and client relations experienceAbility to exercise leadership and influence people who are not direct reports in a matrix-based contextAn Overview Of BBA’s Total Rewards
