URGENT: Nanny Wanted - Part Time Afternoon Nanny For A Curious, Outdoors Loving Toddler In Baie D'urfe, Quebec $30/Hr

We are looking for a warm, reliable, and genuinely curious nanny to care for our 20-month-old daughter, Charlotte, in the afternoons. Charlotte is an intelligent, observant, and active little girl. She loves being outside, climbing, exploring, watching animals and people, and trying to understand how the world around her works. She understands both French and English and currently speaks mainly French. We are not simply looking for someone to supervise or entertain her. We would love to find someone who enjoys sharing their own enthusiasm for nature, movement, discovery, and everyday learning—someone who will notice what captures Charlotte’s attention, talk with her about it, and help her explore it. Schedule Part-time afternoon position, approximately 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 or 7:00 p.m. The nanny will:

• Pick Charlotte up from daycare.
• Take her outside or do an engaging activity with her.
• Prepare a simple, healthy dinner for her.
• Help her eat dinner and transition calmly into the evening.
• Tidy the kitchen and Charlotte’s things after the meal and activities.

We both work from home, so we will usually be nearby. However, during these hours, we want the nanny to feel comfortable taking the lead and developing an independent, trusting relationship with Charlotte. The person we hope to find You are someone who:

• Truly enjoys spending time outdoors in different seasons.
• Is comfortable letting a toddler move, climb, experiment, and take reasonable, age-appropriate risks safely.
• Likes explaining how things work and encouraging questions, observation, and discovery.
• Speaks to children with respect and takes their emotions and ideas seriously.
• Is calm, patient, dependable, and emotionally present.
• Can follow Charlotte’s interests rather than feeling the need to constantly direct or entertain her.
• Is comfortable preparing simple, nutritious meals according to her dietary needs.
• Communicates openly and naturally with parents.

We follow a respectful and positive parenting approach. We do not use punishments, threats, bribes, or reward systems. We set clear and consistent boundaries, acknowledge emotions, and help Charlotte learn through connection, explanation, and repetition. It is important that our nanny feel aligned with this approach. Strong French is important because it is currently Charlotte’s main spoken language. English is very welcome, and bilingual French-English would be a plus. Experience caring for toddlers, references, and current infant/child first-aid and CPR certification are strongly preferred.
