Working as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, the Surgical Care Nurse functions as an experienced self-directed surgical care nurse by assessing, planning, providing, and evaluating nursing care for assigned patients.

Qualifications

• Education, Training And Experience Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant; and Post-basic education in surgical/ambulatory care nursing on a unit specific basis; or An equivalent combination of education and training. Up to two (2) years recent, related experience on a unit specific basis. Basic Life Support, Level C Skills And Abilities

Requirements

Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing registered nurse..

Post-basic education in surgical or ambulatory care nursing, or an equivalent combination of education and training..

Up to two years of recent related experience on a unit-specific basis..

Basic Life Support, Level C certification..

Ability to work independently with limited supervision..
