We are currently seeking a motivated instructor to teach Healthcare Office Administration, emphasizing the impartation of practical knowledge and skills through various teaching methods including lectures, demonstrations, discussions, and both independent and group projects.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Delivering instruction that adheres to the curriculum's module and program objectives
- Fair and consistent evaluation of student performance
- Contributing to the development of curriculum and instructional materials
- Supporting administrative functions to improve the student experience
- Upholding the College's professional standards
- Actively participating in College and program activities
Qualifications:
- Postgraduate degree in Nursing
- Licensed Practical Nurse certificate or Registered Nurse designation
- Current licensure with the College of British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
- 3-5 years of recent nursing experience, particularly in gerontological care in community settings and complex care facilities
- Computer proficiency, especially in integrating e-learning platforms into the curriculum
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to address and adapt to student needs, feelings, and capabilities
- Relevant industry skills, with a commitment to ongoing professional development
- Interest in diverse pedagogical and multi-modal education approaches
- Advanced oral and written communication skills, including presentation and group facilitation abilities
- High standards of behavior, professionalism, and commitment to quality service
- Collaborative work ethic with other instructors and staff
