Position Overview: *
We are seeking an experienced Geospatial/GIS Analyst to join our Analytics team. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Geospatial Analytics, the ideal candidate will leverage advanced spatial analysis techniques to support business insights and decision-making across our organization. The position requires a strong analytical mindset, prior hands-on experience in spatial analysis and technical skills in GIS software, SQL, and Python. This is a role that will create a meaningful impact on the business through data-driven insights.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analyze and process spatially enriched data using advanced GIS tools
- Support cross-functional (planning, sales, marketing, pricing) teams by transforming complex spatial data into actionable insights
- Manage spatial databases, develop and refine geospatial analysis methodologies, implement and maintain GIS applications and workflows
- Drive business performance improvements through improved digital targeting, competitive intel, identification of underpenetrated markets for the marketing team
- Collaborate with various departments to address data-driven questions and challenges
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geomatics, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of experience in spatial/GIS analytics. Master's degree in spatial analysis an asset
- Proficiency in GIS software (ESRI ArcGIS Online or QGIS) and technical skills in SQL, Python. Experience with Alteryx an asset
- Strong understanding of geospatial analysis techniques and demonstrated ability to work with complex spatial datasets
- Solid problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
- Aptitude to learn new tools and technologies
