Enterprise Monitoring Specialist

PureLogicIT Solutions is seeking an intermediate to senior Enterprise Monitoring Specialist to join our Professional Services team in Ottawa, Canada. As an Enterprise Monitoring Specialist, you will provide subject matter expertise and direction on complex projects and initiatives for your assigned area(s) of responsibility. You will manage the IT infrastructure and ensure the security and performance of monitoring systems for our customers who have acquired or need support with enterprise and application monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering and administrative work associated with enterprise monitoring tools and capabilities for our clients.
• Serve as a subject matter expert to administer and maintain the security of monitoring systems, including Dynatrace APM, vRA, vROPS, Aria Operations, Aria for Logs, Aria for Networks, SolarWinds, Micro Focus, and other enterprise monitoring systems.
• Maintain knowledge of current and emerging developments and trends in the assigned area(s) of responsibility, assess the impact, and collaborate with senior management and clients to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
• Install, configure, and maintain DynaTrace and other monitoring tools within client infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of there technology stack.
• Collaborate closely with clients to understand their needs, tailor solutions, and ensure successful implementation and support.
• Capture method arguments for key pieces of the application and utilize DynaTrace or other monitoring platforms to provide insights into application performance, end-user experience, and infrastructure health.
• Customize DynaTrace or other platform dashboards and alerts to meet specific business requirements and integrate with other monitoring and analytics tools.
• Identify and direct the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department, and/or business unit for the assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Provide subject matter expertise to team members, clients, and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments and projects for the assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Configure, install, maintain, and perform upgrades to server applications and hardware for our clients.
• Provide direction and guidance for the organization's and clients' information systems and peripheral equipment, such as servers, desktops, printers, and storage devices.
• Lead projects, work with clients, and perform other professional services activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, management information systems, or a related field.
• Minimum 3+ years of system administration experience with enterprise monitoring systems.

• Minimum 3+ years of experience with server management products, i.e., AppDynamics, OEM, Microsoft SCOM, and the specified tools (Dynatrace APM, vRA, vROPS, Aria Operations, Aria for Logs, Aria for Networks, SolarWinds, Micro Focus).
• Minimum 3+ years of networking experience in an enterprise environment.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience with JavaScript programming.
• Working knowledge of both Windows and UNIX based systems in an enterprise environment, including advanced shell scripting.
• Advanced knowledge of enterprise monitoring metrics, reporting, logging, and best practices.
• Experience with SNMP, TCP/IP, and core LAN/WAN principles.
• Ability to perform network traffic analysis using network capture tools.
• Ability to translate low-level monitoring metrics into consolidated management-level reports.
• Must be able to obtain or hold a valid Canadian Secret Security Clearance.
