Our client is a well-established and rapidly growing developer-builder with an active pipeline of multi-residential projects across the National Capital Region. With several major developments currently underway and additional projects scheduled to launch in the coming years, the organization is expanding its leadership team and seeking an experienced Project Director to oversee multiple high-profile construction projects.
Your new role
Reporting to the senior construction leadership team, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of several multi-storey residential developments simultaneously. Acting as both a strategic and operational leader, you will provide oversight to Project Managers and site teams while maintaining accountability for project performance, budgets, schedules, risk management and client relationships.
You will play a key role in project governance, financial oversight, procurement strategy, subcontractor management and stakeholder engagement. This position requires a hands-on leader who is comfortable balancing executive-level responsibilities with a regular site presence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the overall performance of multiple construction projects
- Leading Project Managers and project delivery teams
- Monitoring project budgets, schedules and key performance indicators
- Supporting procurement, contract administration and subcontractor negotiations
- Managing risk, change orders and major project issues
- Building strong relationships with consultants, clients and stakeholders
- Participating in strategic planning for upcoming developments
- Driving consistency, quality and continuous improvement across projects
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this position, you will bring:
- 10+ years of construction project management experience
- Experience delivering multi-storey residential, condominium, apartment or mixed-use developments with wood frame and or concrete
- A proven track record managing projects valued at $20M+
- Strong leadership experience overseeing Project Managers and site teams
- Excellent financial, contractual and commercial acumen
- The ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- A degree or diploma in construction, engineering, architecture or a related discipline
- Bilingualism in English and French is considered a significant asset
