Who we are:

The Educational Facilities and Pupil Transportation Branch provide school districts with support and expertise in the planning and management of educational facilities and pupil transportation. The objective is to create a healthy and secure learning and working environment and we are seeking an individual to join the Educational Facilities Unit as a Senior Project Manager in our central office in Fredericton.

What you will do:

Reporting to the Infrastructure Program Manager, the successful candidate will be a member of the team responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of strategies for the effective management of the province`s school infrastructure which includes 294 schools.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the planning of educational facilities, which includes, recommending capital projects and completing the related consultations with Francophone School Districts, District Education Councils, and community groups. They are responsible for providing leadership to issues related to the operations of school physical plants and following up with School Districts and the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DTI) on appropriate identified issues. They will review plans and specifications, ensuring compliance with environmental and public safety laws and regulations, as well as managing approved budgetary allotments.

Key responsibilities include:

• Plan, develop and implement effective infrastructure management strategies
• Stakeholder engagement and consultation
• Capital Program project recommendations, planning and implementation
• Prepare documentation for annual capital budget submissions
• Educational facility specifications and construction plan review
• Ensure communication plans for all capital projects are implemented
• Compliance of Environmental and Public Safety laws, regulations and building codes
• Facilitate communication and coordination between DTI and School Districts
• Management of approved budget allocation

Need to have:

• A bachelor`s degree in engineering, architecture or a related field with a minimum of six (6) years of related progressive experience in facility planning, management of physical plant, building administration or relatable building operation field.
• Demonstrated experience in planning and organizing major projects.
• Superior level in French is required for this position. A language evaluation will be offered to those who screen in.
• An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in French and English is required; the positions will mainly conduct business in French. Please state your language capability on your application.

Salary :

Pay Band 5: $67,600 - $94,406 annually.
