Job Description

The Manager - People Operations is responsible for leading all facets of HR Operations including systems, processes, policies, compliance, and day-to-day HR operations while ensuring top-notch service to employees. This role serves as a steward of how work gets done at Appcast, designing and evolving people processes, policies, systems, and employee experiences that support our culture, enable business performance, and create a consistent and scalable employee experience. The Manager - People Operations will oversee a best-in-class HR operations function, continuously improving the way we support employees through process optimization, automation, AI-enabled solutions, and thoughtful system design, while ensuring compliance, operational excellence, and scalability. To be successful in this role, you will need to understand business needs, build strong cross-functional partnerships, and leverage data, technology, and insights to design practical solutions that align with organizational requirements, enhance the employee experience, and reinforce Appcast's culture. 

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure HRIS designs meet Appcast business requirements and support our culture; ensure system reporting features and dashboards meet the needs of the People team, employees and business partners 
• Lead optimization initiatives across the entire People team for continuous improvement in people processes, systems, and data
• Plan, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs       
• Responsible for designing, improving, and maintaining locally compliant handbooks, employment policies, and procedures that support our culture and business needs   
• Responsible for overseeing all employee life-cycle policies and processes (i.e. immigration, relocation, expatriate) and ensuring procedures are up to date and accurately applied 
• Ensure accurate procedures are in place and followed for systematic onboarding and offboarding processes, including driving continuous improvement to reduce administrative burden to the team while improving the employee experience and capturing accurate data   
• Establish strong working relationships with legal partners to build and maintain knowledge of employment law, staying up to speed on regulatory changes, trends and best practices across the locations in which we operate. Recommend changes to improve and/or enhance HR policies and procedures that maintain compliance while supporting our unique culture 
• Leverage the People ticketing system to deliver best in class service in response to the employee inquiries. Build standard SLA’s for responding to all People tickets and analyze data to provide insights to help identify areas of improvement 
• Provide leadership, direction, and development for the People Operations team, establishing clear goals, driving accountability, building expertise, and fostering a continuous improvement mindset    
• Be comfortable making sound decisions and recommendations with the information available. This sometimes means modifying existing basic policies or past practices, operating in the gray areas, and creating processes and policies to be clearer and more specific with minimal gray areas   

Qualifications

• Strong experience with HR Operations, and employment laws for North America; UK experience a plus 
• Previous experience as an HRIS administrator or at minimum, excellent knowledge and experience using an HRIS platform and implementing system features
• Proven ability to design and implement policies and processes that support company culture and maintain compliance with employment laws 
• Proven experience in business process improvement, optimizing processes to enhance the employee experience 
• Excellent project management skills 

Education and Experience  

• Bachelor's degree in HR, payroll, compensation or relevant field is required. 
• 5+ years of HR experience directly supporting HR operations, a client group or business unit in HR operations (areas including benefits, HRIS management) is required. 
• Global HR experience is a plus 
• Advanced skill set in Microsoft office suite 

Travel Requirements

• Limited travel may be necessary. 

Fair Labor Standards Act Status   

• Salaried Exempt: Personnel will earn their regular salary and not be entitled to overtime pay when they work over 40 hours in a work week. 

Supervisory Responsibilities 

• This role manages a team.
