Under the direction of the executive chef and/or sous chef, the cook prepares flavorful and original dishes while adhering to quality and safety standards. This person contributes to providing a memorable culinary experience in a friendly and professional atmosphere.
Role and Responsibilities
Prepare ingredients according to established standards and requirements.
Cook food by applying techniques and recipes accurately.
Plate dishes according to the establishment's presentation standards.
Maintain a spotless and organized work area.
Rigorously adhere to safety and hygiene standards.
Communicate clearly and courteously with the team.
Develop positive working relationships with colleagues.
Follow all company policies and procedures.
Maintain confidentiality of work-related information.
Protect company assets.
Report any accidents, injuries, or hazardous conditions to the supervisor.
Perform any other related tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Professional or college training in hospitality, tourism or a related field.
1 to 2 years of experience, ideally in hospitality.
Certificate in hygiene and safety from MAPAQ (an asset).
Skills, Abilities and Aptitudes
Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills and strong customer service orientation.
Flexibility for varied schedules: weekends, mornings, evenings, and holidays.
Ability to stand for most of the time.
Handle objects weighing less than 15 pounds without assistance.
Communicate effectively in writing and orally in functional French and English.
