Senior Commercial Property Underwriter
Economical Insurance
Evaluate commercial property risks as a Senior Underwriter with Economical, using analytical judgment and broker relationships in a hybrid work environment.
This senior underwriting role focuses on Commercial Lines risk evaluation, new business, renewals, and endorsements. You will negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with brokers while providing technical guidance and customer service. The position requires bilingual French and English communication and supports business across Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
- Underwrite new business submissions and make risk acceptance decisions
- Review, negotiate, and process renewals and policy endorsements
- Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with brokers
- Build and maintain strong broker relationships
- Provide underwriting guidance and technical support to brokers
Requirements:
- Four to seven years of Commercial Lines underwriting experience
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills evaluating complex risks
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and customer service skills
- Professional written and verbal French and English communication
- University degree, college diploma, or CIP designation
