Regional Manager, Human Resources - British Columbia
$100k - $120k per yearHighline Mushrooms
Location: British Columbia (Travel Required) Join a team where people matter
At Highline, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As one of North America's leading mushroom growers, we are committed to creating a respectful, safe and inclusive workplace where our associates can thrive.
We are seeking an experienced Regional Manager, Human Resources to lead the day-to-day HR operations across our five British Columbia locations, supporting approximately 500 associates. Reporting to the Corporate Human Resources Manager, this position plays a key leadership role in partnering with operations, developing leaders, fostering positive employee and labour relations, and leading a dedicated HR team.
If you're a collaborative HR leader who enjoys being close to the business, solving complex people challenges and making a meaningful impact in a fast-paced operational environment, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
As the Regional Manager, Human Resources, you'll serve as the primary HR partner for our BC operations by:
- Leading the day-to-day Human Resources function across five British Columbia locations.
- Providing practical coaching and guidance to operational leaders on employee relations, performance management, attendance management, accommodations and workplace conflict.
- Conducting workplace investigations and recommending appropriate resolutions.
- Administering and interpreting the Collective Agreement while building productive relationships with union representatives.
- Managing grievances and supporting labour relations initiatives.
- Participating as a member of the employer bargaining committee during collective bargaining.
- Leading, coaching and developing a team consisting of an HR Generalist, HR Administrator, Housing & Transportation Coordinator and Reception Administrator.
- Supporting the operational administration of Highline's Agricultural Temporary Foreign Worker Program, including housing, transportation and work permit renewal processes.
- Partnering with site leadership to promote employee engagement, operational excellence and a positive workplace culture.
- Supporting corporate HR initiatives, audits and compliance activities.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone who is approachable, practical and enjoys building relationships at every level of the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- CPHR designation, or working toward designation, is considered an asset.
- Minimum five (5) years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Minimum three (3) years supporting a unionized workforce.
- Experience leading or supervising an HR team.
- Strong employee relations and workplace investigation experience.
- Experience coaching leaders through complex workplace issues.
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Valid driver's licence and the ability to travel regularly throughout British Columbia.
Experience in agriculture, food production, manufacturing or another operational environment is considered a strong asset.
Why You'll Enjoy This Role
This is more than a traditional HR position. You'll be a trusted advisor to operational leaders, lead a talented HR team, and play a key role in supporting a diverse workforce across multiple locations.
This role offers the opportunity to
- Make a meaningful impact on the employee experience.
- Build strong partnerships with operational leaders.
- Lead a collaborative and supportive HR team.
- Participate in labour relations and collective bargaining.
- Contribute to strategic HR initiatives while remaining connected to day-to-day operations.
- Grow your leadership career within a progressive and values-driven organization.
Working Environment
This position supports a 24/7 agricultural operation and requires flexibility to respond to operational needs. Occasional evening, weekend and statutory holiday work may be required.
The successful candidate will regularly travel between Highline's British Columbia locations and maintain a visible presence throughout the business. The role involves working in both office and operational environments, including production facilities and employee housing, and requires someone who enjoys being engaged with operations rather than working exclusively from an office.
Compensation & Benefits
Highline offers a competitive compensation package, comprehensive benefits, paid vacation and opportunities for professional growth and development.
Salary Range: $100,000 – $120,000 annually
If you're looking for an opportunity to lead, influence and make a difference in a dynamic operational environment, we'd love to hear from you.
