Elevate financial security as the Director of Data Science at Mastercard. Spearhead AML and crypto fraud detection model development while leading a dedicated team of data scientists. This leadership position in the Mastercard Security Solutions team focuses on innovating and delivering machine learning models aimed at combatting financial crimes across the Americas. Balancing hands-on contributions and team leadership, you will manage end-to-end model development, guiding a talented group toward achieving significant outcomes in risk detection. Collaborating closely with Product and Engineering teams ensures that your work aligns strategically with organizational goals. Key Responsibilities:
- Directly contribute to AML and crypto risk modeling efforts
- Lead a team to set priorities and achieve high outcomes
- Define and adjust the technical roadmap for detection solutions
- Work with Product teams to discover new opportunities
- Ensure excellence in model quality and governance
- Extensive experience in data science, particularly in financial crime
- Proficiency in Python and distributed data platforms
- Strong track record in stakeholder management
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant quantitative field
- Experience in payments or fraud detection is a plus
