Oyster Shucker — Fanny Bay Oyster Bar 

Fanny Bay Oyster Bar is looking for a skilled, reliable, and hardworking Oyster Shucker to join our team. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their shucking technique, works well under pressure, and is passionate about high-quality oysters and exceptional guest experiences.

What You’ll Do

• Shuck oysters quickly, safely, and consistently while maintaining excellent presentation.
• Prepare oysters according to restaurant standards and specifications.
• Inspect oysters for quality, freshness, and presentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary shucking station.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of oysters and seafood.
• Keep up with high-volume service while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Work closely with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth service.
• Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Maintain and properly care for shucking knives, tools, and equipment.
• Complete additional tasks and duties as assigned by the supervisor.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous oyster-shucking or seafood-handling experience preferred; training is available.
• Restaurant, oyster bar, seafood market, or culinary experience is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent communication and guest-service skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Reliable, hardworking, and team-oriented.
• FoodSafe Level 1 certification required, or willingness to obtain.
• Valid Serving It Right certification required.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is an asset.
