Senior Project Manager (Bridges)

In Canada, our Bridge department has offices in Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, and Québec City. AtkinsRéalis has a large international presence with over 700 bridge professionals worldwide and is involved in some of the most complex structures in the world.

Location and Reporting

The Bridges Department – Western Region is seeking a Senior Project Manager (Bridges) for our team in British Columbia. The position reports to the Manager, Major Bridges & West Region.

Your Role

• Provide project management for multidisciplinary bridge projects.
• Lead a structural design team for a variety of projects.
• Apply advanced engineering techniques and tools to solve complex engineering challenges.
• Direct, coach, support, and guide employees (engineers and technicians) assigned to projects.
• Advise management and collaborate with other disciplines.
• Prepare proposals and participate in business development, including publications and conferences.
• Prepare structural designs, evaluations, and contract packages for the BC Ministry of Transit and Transportation (MoTT) and other key clients such as the City of Vancouver, other municipalities, Yukon Government, and Alberta Transportation, following current Ministry policies, procedures, standards, specifications, and manuals.

About You

• Degree in Civil Engineering, preferably with a Structural major.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with EGBC.
• 15+ years of experience in engineering practice in analysis and design of various types of bridge and transportation structures; experience with railway structures is an asset.
• Experience reviewing condition survey reports and making recommendations for rehabilitation strategy.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) designation with 10 years in project management.
• Demonstrated experience working in a multi‑disciplinary team delivering projects of varying complexity, type of bridge, size, and scope.
• Experience with the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC) and the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance‑of‑Way Association (AREMA) Code.
• Proficiency in SAP 2000, CSI Bridge, MIDAS, STAAD Pro, ETABS, Bentley ProjectWise, and Microsoft Office applications.
