Role Summary – Data Fabric Consultant / Subject Matter Expert (SME)
BrickRed Systems is seeking a highly experienced Data Fabric Consultant / SME to lead enterprise data modernization initiatives. This role will serve as a strategic advisor to clients, defining and implementing data fabric architectures that unify distributed data environments and enable real-time, intelligent decision-making.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, data teams, and executive leadership to drive end-to-end data strategy, architecture, and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients on data fabric strategy, architecture, and implementation
- Design and lead enterprise-scale data fabric solutions across hybrid and multi-cloud environments
- Define data integration, governance, and metadata management frameworks
- Enable data virtualization and seamless data access across disparate systems
- Drive adoption of real-time data processing and event-driven architectures
- Collaborate with business leaders to align data strategy with business outcomes
- Lead technical workshops, architecture reviews, and stakeholder presentations
- Mentor internal teams and guide best practices in up-to-date data engineering and architecture
- Evaluate and recommend tools and platforms across Azure, AWS, and GCP ecosystems
Required Technical Skills
- 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or consulting roles
- Deep expertise in data fabric concepts, data mesh (nice-to-have), and contemporary data platforms
- Strong experience with Azure (Synapse, Data Factory, Purview), AWS (Glue, Lake Formation), or GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow)
- Proficiency in data integration, ETL/ELT, and orchestration tools
- Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka, Spark Streaming, Flink)
- Knowledge of data governance, lineage, cataloging, and compliance frameworks
- Solid programming skills in Python and SQL
- Familiarity with API-led integration, microservices, and distributed systems
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
