Summary: The catalogue editor and programs analyst supports academic processes managed by the department, including the development, revision, and oversight of academic programs, courses, and related policies. This role provides consultation and analysis on the academic calendar and institutional academic procedures, while interpreting complex university information for diverse stakeholders. This position involves consulting with various stakeholders to compile, draft, finalize, and administer revisions to the academic calendar. The analyst also contributes to special projects, business process improvements, and the implementation and maintenance of web content systems. Collaboration with academic units, administrative offices, and external bodies forms a central part of the role, alongside maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance with university policies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identifies and evaluates risks and conflicts related to academic programming and calendar updates.
- Coordinates development, approval, and revision processes for the academic calendar.
- Organizes and circulates key dates, deadlines, and process communications in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Edits and vets catalogue, policy documents, and institutional publications for accuracy and compliance.
- Administers the course module within the student information system and oversees updates to the web content management system.
- Oversees the editing and publication of catalogue content, academic websites, and university channels.
- Analyzes academic programs, courses, and policy changes for inclusion in the course and program catalogue.
- Interprets and communicates academic policies, procedures, and regulations to campus stakeholders.
- Implements new or revised programs and courses in collaboration with academic and administrative units.
- Develops and refines business processes aligned with institutional priorities and regulations.
- Tracks and oversees issues using a systems approach.
- Liaises with information technology and communications partners and university departments to support web and academic updates.
- Maintains professional relationships across the university and with external stakeholders.
- Communicates and acts in a respectful and professional manner, collaborates effectively, abides by policy, and contributes to a positive and productive work and learning environment.
- Engages in continuous learning by participating in activities, training, and events related to Indigenous engagement, reconciliation, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Demonstrates respect and dignity for all members of the community, actively contributes to an environment of acceptance and inclusion of others, and responds to different perspectives from a place of curiosity, respect, and non-judgement.
- Undertakes related duties, as assigned, consistent with the nature of the position.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum of one year of directly related experience, including experience maintaining competing priorities and complex projects.
- Knowledge of university academic and administrative policies, regulations, and governance structures.
- Ability to analyze complex academic processes and develop solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to support financial and human resource-related activities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong judgement, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive information.
- Familiarity with systems, such as Banner, Web Content Management System (Cascade), Jira, About-US, and reporting tools.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and data tools.

Salary: The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE, is $53,091.00 - 82,954.00 per annum. The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
