Experienced Neurodiversity-Affirming Caregiver Needed

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced respite worker/caregiver for our 6-year-old non-verbal autistic son. This is a part-time position providing support both in our home and out in the community. We are looking for someone who is neurodiversity-affirming and has experience supporting autistic children and/or children with disabilities. Our son is a sweet, happy, and active child who enjoys community outings, parks, swimming, sensory activities, and spending time with people who understand and respect his communication style. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with feeding and mealtimes
• Toileting and personal care
• Supporting safe participation in community activities
• Engaging in play and recreational activities
• Providing close supervision and ensuring safety

Our son also has mild cerebral palsy, which can make him a fall risk on uneven surfaces. Candidates must be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with mobility and transfers as needed. Requirements:

• Experience working with autistic children and/or children with disabilities
• Neurodiversity-affirming approach
• Current First Aid/CPR certification
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
• Current Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain one)
• Comfortable around pets (we have one dog and one cat)

We are located in Westhills SW. Hours are flexible and may include evenings and weekends. Competitive wage offered and dependent on experience.
